Day 4: When Conviction Hurts

Reading: Mark 10:17-27; Joshua 24:14-15

Devotional: The rich young ruler came running, knelt before Jesus, and asked the right question. He had kept the commandments faithfully. Then came the moment of examination: "Jesus, looking at him, loved him" and identified his sticking point—his wealth. The man walked away sad, choosing his possessions over the presence of God. Can you imagine being face-to-face with Jesus and choosing the sticky trap instead? Conviction hurts, especially when God calls us from something we enjoy. But He convicts because He loves us and knows what we're truly trusting in. What is Jesus lovingly pointing to in your life today? What possession, relationship, or comfort are you clinging to instead of Him? Choose this day whom you will serve. Write it down. Make it real.
