Day 4: He Will Never Leave You
Reading: Deuteronomy 31:6-8 and Hebrews 13:5-6
The promise God gave through Moses to an entire nation was not retired when the Old Testament closed. The writer of Hebrews carries it forward with full confidence, quoting it as a living word for believers still. The original language of that promise in the New Testament stacks negatives upon negatives for the strongest possible emphasis. God will not, will not, will not abandon you. He will not leave you helpless. He will not strand you emotionally. People will fail you. Seasons will disappoint you. But God is not a person who forgets His word. He goes before you, stands beside you, and holds you from behind.
Reflection: Have past experiences of being abandoned by people made it difficult to fully trust that God will stay? Bring that honest struggle to Him today.
Practical Application: Memorize Deuteronomy 31:6 this week. When fear or discouragement rises, speak it aloud as a declaration of what you know to be true about God's character.
