Day 3: Losing Your Life to Find It
Reading: Mark 8:35-38
The pursuit of achievement, status, comfort, and recognition is deeply wired into human ambition. Yet Scripture is clear that gaining the entire world while forfeiting your soul is the worst possible trade. The baseball player who reached the pinnacle of professional sports stood in a locker room surrounded by everything the world calls success and felt utterly empty. God allowed that emptiness to become a doorway. The things we chase most aggressively are often the very things that reveal how little they can actually satisfy. Losing your life for Christ is not a loss at all. It is the only exchange that results in something that lasts forever.
Practical Application: Identify one ambition or pursuit in your life that may be competing with your devotion to Christ. Pray specifically and honestly about whether that pursuit is drawing you toward God or away from Him.
