Day 3: From Downcast to Hopeful

Reading: Lamentations 3:17-26; Psalm 63:1

It's honest to acknowledge when our soul feels downcast, when peace seems distant and hope feels lost. But we cannot remain there. The turning point comes with five powerful words: "Yet this I call to mind." We have a choice in what we rehearse. Will we repeat our afflictions or recite God's faithfulness? His mercies are new every morning—not recycled yesterday's grace but fresh provision for today's needs. Great is His faithfulness. When you're in the pit, call on His name. He hears your plea and comes near, saying "Do not fear." Change your declaration from what's going wrong to what God has done right. You, Lord, took up my case. You redeemed my life. Let eternal perspective reshape your earthly circumstances. Earnestly seek Him, thirst for Him, and watch how He satisfies your parched soul.
