Day 3: Build on the Right Foundation

Reading: Luke 6:46-49 and James 1:22-25

Hearing the Word of God without applying it is not neutral. It is self-deception. James describes someone who hears but does not act as a person who looks in a mirror and immediately forgets what they saw. The image is almost humorous until you recognize yourself in it. Jesus asked plainly why anyone would call Him Lord and then refuse to do what He says. Obedience is not the means of earning salvation. It is the natural response of a heart that genuinely belongs to Him. The blessed life is not accidental. It is built, deliberately and daily, on the foundation of hearing and doing. Every storm tests what the foundation is made of.
