Day 2: Wake Up and Rise
Reading: Ephesians 5:8-17
The Apostle Paul's words carry the force of a direct command: wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Sleepwalking through the Christian life is more common than most believers want to admit. Going through the motions, attending without engaging, hearing without applying. God's Word is not written for passive consumption. It is written to transform. The light of Christ does not simply illuminate your surroundings. It illuminates you, exposing what needs to change and empowering that change at the same time. The days are described as evil, which means there is no neutral ground. You are either awake and walking wisely or asleep and drifting.
Reflection: In what area of your spiritual life have you been sleepwalking? What would it look like to fully wake up in that area?
Practical Application: Identify one habit or routine in your daily life that has become spiritually passive. Replace it this week with something intentional, whether prayer, Scripture, or an act of service.
