Day 1: Moving Beyond the Checklist

Reading: Matthew 15:7-9; Ephesians 2:8-10

Religion can become routine—knowing what to say, performing the right actions, yet keeping our hearts at a distance. Jesus confronted the Pharisees not for their knowledge, but for their empty worship. God doesn't want our checklist; He wants our hearts. We are His handiwork, created not to earn salvation through works, but to overflow with good works because of what He's done in us. When Christ truly transforms us, our actions flow from love, not obligation. Today, examine your spiritual life: Are you going through the motions, or is your heart fully engaged? God desires authentic relationship over religious performance. Surrender your heart afresh to Him.
