Day 5: The Answer to a Wretched Man
Reading: Romans 7:21-25 and Romans 12:1-2
Paul's honest confession in Romans 7 is one of the most relatable passages in all of Scripture. The internal war between what we know is right and what we actually do is not a sign of hopeless failure. It is the honest cry of a person who has not yet fully surrendered to the transforming work of Christ. But Paul does not end in despair. He ends in gratitude. Thanks be to God, who delivers through Jesus Christ. The same God who met men at a weekend retreat, who called a desperate man back from the edge of a tree stand, who healed a child dismissed by every label the world could place on him, is the God who meets you exactly where you are right now. Surrender your body, your mind, and your will to Him. Let transformation begin not as a single dramatic moment but as a daily, living act of worship.
Practical Application: Pray Psalm 139:23-24 aloud today as your own personal prayer. Ask God to reveal any hidden area of your heart that still operates under old management, and invite Him to begin His renewing work there today.
