Day 5: Shining as Light
Reading: Matthew 5:14-16
Jesus is the Light of the world, but He calls you to be light too. This isn't arrogance—it's evidence that Christ lives in you. Without Him, you have no light; with Him, you cannot help but shine. Don't hide this light under fear, shame, or the desire to fit in. A lamp isn't lit to be covered; it's placed where it illuminates everything around it. Your good deeds, rooted in Christ, should shine so brightly that people can't help but notice—and ultimately praise your Heavenly Father. Be careful who you allow to influence you. Don't let the world feed you spiritual junk food until you forget how to live in your God-designed habitat. Call on God regularly (Jeremiah 33:3). Stay alert, because the enemy prowls, but God's hedge of protection surrounds those who draw near to Him.
