Day 5: Pressing On to the Prize

Reading: Philippians 3:10-14; Matthew 28:18-20

Paul's singular focus was knowing Christ—not just intellectually but experientially, through both resurrection power and shared suffering. He refused to rest on past accomplishments, declaring "one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on." This is the posture for a new year and every new day. Let go of yesterday's failures and yesterday's successes. Both can distract you from today's obedience. Jesus gave us marching orders: "Therefore, go." Go make disciples. Go baptize. Go teach. And remember His promise: "I am with you always." Your go is not insignificant in God's kingdom. What's attached to your obedience? What will be requires your willingness to move. Press on toward the goal, toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. He is faithful, and He will do it.
