Day 4: The Daily Discipline of Discipleship
Reading: Matthew 7:24-27; James 1:22-25
The hardest thing about being a Christian is that it's daily. Every morning requires renewed commitment to build your life on the Rock. Jesus didn't say storms wouldn't come—He promised they would. The difference between standing and collapsing isn't the intensity of the storm but the foundation beneath your feet. Hearing God's Word without doing it is self-deception. It's admiring the blueprint without building the house. Today's faith can't sustain tomorrow's trial; you need fresh bread from heaven each morning. This isn't legalism—it's relationship. A personal Savior desires personal interaction. In a world stealing authentic connection through endless scrolling, choose the daily discipline of sitting with Jesus. Read His Word. Apply His truth. Stand firm on what He's spoken.
