Day 3: The Fruit of the Spirit Over Feelings

Reading: Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit of the Spirit isn't a spiritual buffet where we pick what we like. It's a complete package—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—all produced in us by Christ's presence. When offense comes, our feelings scream for retaliation, but the Spirit calls for patience. Our emotions demand immediate justice, but the Spirit produces self-control. Here's the truth: feelings-based living makes us spiritually paralyzed. We can't pursue God's calling while constantly nursing wounds and planning revenge. Faith must lead, not feelings. Moses stepped into the Red Sea when feelings said, "This is foolish." Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced the furnace when feelings screamed, "Run!" They chose faith. Today, identify one area where feelings control you more than faith, and surrender it to God's Spirit.
