Day 2: The Father Who Runs
Reading: Luke 15:17-24
The prodigal son rehearsed his apology on the long walk home, certain he had disqualified himself from being called a son. What he did not expect was a father who had been watching the road. Before the speech was finished, before the repentance was fully expressed, the father was already running. This is the picture of God that Jesus wanted burned into our hearts. He is not standing at the door with arms crossed, waiting to hear the right words. He is filled with compassion, moving toward you. No matter how far you have wandered, the Father is already running.
Reflection Question: Have you been approaching God as a judge waiting to condemn you rather than a father running to embrace you?
Practical Application: Write down one area of your life where you have been hiding from God. Bring it to Him today in honest prayer, trusting that He receives you with compassion, not condemnation.
