Day 2: Burning the Ships

Reading: Philippians 3:12-14

Devotional: There's power in the point of no return. When Hernan Cortes burned his ships, his men had only one option: move forward. Paul understood this principle spiritually—forgetting what lies behind and straining toward what's ahead. What ships do you need to burn in your life? What old patterns, comfortable sins, or familiar failures are you keeping as backup plans? God calls us to victory upon victory, not victory followed by retreat. The Christian life isn't about maintaining escape routes back to your old self. It's about complete surrender and forward momentum. Today, identify one area where you've been keeping a way back to your past. Confess it to God and ask Him for the courage to burn that ship completely. Your future in Christ is too valuable to risk for the comfort of yesterday.
