Day 5: Waiting Forwardly

Reading: Hebrews 9:24-28

Like Simeon who waited with anxious anticipation for the Messiah's first coming, we should eagerly await Christ's second coming. "He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." Are you living with this expectation? Or has the comfort of this world dulled your longing for eternity? At fourteen, the sermon mentioned someone anxiously awaiting a shotgun—peeking at presents, unable to think of anything else. Do you anticipate Jesus' return with that same fervor? This isn't about fearing death, but celebrating the promise of home. Today, examine your heart: Have you received the gift of salvation Jesus offers? Don't put it off. Today is the day of salvation. And if you know Him, live with the confident hope that this world is not your home—you're just passing through, waiting forwardly for the greatest homecoming celebration of all.
