Day 4: The Hiding Place That Holds
Reading: Psalm 32:1-11 and Psalm 139:7-12
David knew what it was to hide from God, and he also knew what it was to hide in God. These are two entirely different experiences. Hiding from God produces shame, isolation, and spiritual exhaustion. Hiding in God produces protection, instruction, and songs of deliverance. What David discovered — and what you can discover today — is that God's presence is not a place of exposure designed to humiliate you. It is a refuge designed to restore you. There is nowhere you can go where He is not already there, and that truth is not a threat. For the one who trusts Him, it is the greatest comfort imaginable.
Personal Reflection: Have you been treating God's awareness of your life as something to fear rather than something to find comfort in? What would it mean today to let Him be your hiding place rather than the one you are hiding from?
Practical Application: Memorize Psalm 32:7 in whatever translation you use regularly. Repeat it throughout your day, especially in moments when anxiety, shame, or fear begin to surface. Let it become the instinctive response of your heart.
