Day 3: Burn the Ships—No Turning Back

Reading: Luke 9:57-62

Jesus told one would-be follower, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God." Following Christ requires burning the ships of our old life—eliminating retreat options. The one-way missionaries who packed coffins instead of suitcases understood this radical commitment. They weren't reckless; they were resolved. What safety nets are you clinging to that prevent total surrender? What "Plan B" keeps you from fully trusting God's "Plan A"? Today, identify one area where you're hedging your bets spiritually. Faithfulness isn't holding the fort—it's storming the gates of hell. When we eliminate the option to turn back, we become dangerous for Christ. No turning back means moving forward in faith, trusting that He who called you is faithful.
