Day 2: Weighed and Known

Reading: Daniel 5:17-28

Belshazzar did not stumble into judgment. He walked toward it with confidence, using sacred things for selfish purposes and daring God to respond. The handwriting on the wall was not a surprise attack — it was the conclusion of a life that refused to acknowledge the living God. The words Mene, Tekel, and Parsin are sobering not because God is cruel, but because He is honest. He sees exactly what we are and what we have done with what He has entrusted to us. The mercy in this passage is the warning itself. God speaks before the verdict. The question is whether we are listening.

Personal Reflection: What has God entrusted to you — gifts, relationships, time, influence — that you may be using outside of His intended purpose? Are you treating anything sacred as ordinary?

Practical Application: Write down one thing God has placed in your life that deserves more intentional stewardship. Commit today to bringing it back under His lordship through a specific and measurable step.
