Day 2: Running the Wrong Way
Reading: Jonah 1:1-17
Jonah's story reveals a profound truth: we cannot outrun God's calling. When God commanded Jonah to go east to Nineveh, he fled west to Tarshish. His defiance didn't change God's plan—it only delayed his obedience and created unnecessary turmoil. How often do we run from God's clear direction because we disagree with His methods or don't like His assignment? God's relentless pursuit of Jonah demonstrates His unwavering commitment to His purposes and His people. Even in our rebellion, He doesn't abandon us. The storm that threatened Jonah's life was actually God's mercy, redirecting him toward his destiny. What direction is God calling you that you've been resisting?
Reflection Question: What area of your life are you running from God's will, and what would surrender look like today?
