Day 1: The Gift of Memory

Reading: Lamentations 3:17-26

Memory is a sacred gift from God. We can choose to remember our afflictions and bitterness, allowing our souls to become downcast, or we can call to mind the Lord's great love and compassion that never fails. Today, pause and intentionally remember God's faithfulness in your life. Like the criminal on the cross who asked Jesus to "remember me," recognize that our Savior sees you and has secured your place in eternity. His mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness. When you feel overwhelmed by past hurts or present struggles, shift your remembrance toward the Lord. He is your portion, and therefore you have hope. What will you choose to remember today?
