Day 1: The Call to Come Close
Reading: James 4:7-10
God's invitation is simple yet profound: "Come near to God and He will come near to you." This isn't a distant relationship where we admire God from afar—it's an intimate friendship where His presence transforms us. The world constantly pulls us toward self-reliance and pride, but true strength comes from humbling ourselves before the Almighty. When we submit to God and resist the enemy, we experience victory. Today, examine what keeps you at arm's length from God. Is it pride? Busyness? Unconfessed sin? The Lord jealously longs for the Spirit He has placed within you. Take time today to simply be still in His presence, washing your hands and purifying your heart. He promises to lift you up.
Reflection Question: What would change in your life if you spent as much time seeking God's face as you do seeking His hand?
